CONSTANT CRONIC PAIN IN HEAD

Hi, I have been suffeing from severe pain in my head for nearly a year now, CT scan showed no Tuma on my brain, so doctors have pushed me to one side basically.Symptons are;numbness down left hand side of face, feeling of something tight like a hat on my head all the time, my head feels like it is in a contraction all the time, when I lie down or apply any pressure on my head it is worse, sometimes I think my head is going to explode.I have had some treatments such as Osteopath, Physio and Accupuncture, the one that eased the pain most was Osteopath. The Neurologist thought it was the bones at the top of my neck compressing on my nerves and that Accupuncture would work but it didn,t.The Doctors don,t seem to want to send me for a MRI scan, but keep increasing my tablets without any real examination,eg. blood pressure checks etc.I am due to see the Neurologist again in a few weeks but I am finding it hard to cope with the pain,I am aloud to take Ibuprofen with the Pregabalin tablets prescribed. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!! MARIE 509

Hi Thankyou for your comments, I have tried lots of very strong tablets and anti-depressant tablets as well but no thing has actually taken the pain away.If I get to sleep straight away I sleep well but the moment Iwake up the pain is there, its like a wushing noise and then it all starts off again. The pain in my head is every day since 26th feb.last year I get no time off for holidays it is constant. No I am not a stressful person and if someone could take the pain away I would be the happiest person, although the pain is wearing me down a little now.Sorry to ramble but it really is a pain in the head/neck rather than an headache. Hello.

Have you though of tension-type headache ? You symptoms point towards this type of headache.

But you still need to get a thorough check up done. You can request a physician to do it.

There are better drugs for this type of headache. You will probably have to ask for a change of medication.

Would you say that the headaches are more than or less than 15 days a month ? How is your sleep ? Are you under some stress ?

Regards
