For the past several months my vision has been choppy/blurred with movement. It is ongoing 24/7, but some times are worse than others. In addition, I see starbursts and halos, which are particularly noticeable at night. I see 20/20 and do not have double vision. I have numerous tests and seen a variety of doctors including nuerologist, Ophthalmologists, nuero-ophthalmologists, inner ear specialists. I have have the following tests done including CT scan, brain MRI, blood glucose, blood work, inner ear tests, eye exams, visual evoked response (VER) test, etc. The only test that came back as potentially negative was an inner ear test related to the level of fluid in my right inner ear. We tried medications for a couple months which had no impact on me, so the inner ear doctor suggested vestibular therapy (which wouldn't explain the starbursts and halo vision).
When my vision is the worst, I will feel somewhat dizzy or lightheaded (the room does not spin and it's not vertigo). Even without movement, my vision does not seem normal even though I see 20/20. It mildly appears like there are millions of little sparkles or like I'm watching the a disconnected TV with all the black and white fuzziness (although everything appears in normal colors). Doctors have thrown out the idea of it being migraine related, which they agree isn't likely (no headaches and lasts 24 hours a day). Ophthalmologists (3) see nothing wrong with my eyes. Any suggestions on what it might be?
