Diagnosed with a meningioma. Its 2.5mm .

My meningioma is 2.5 mm.  I had a fall and  had trauma to the head.It is adjacent to the dura over the right parietal convexity. 2.5 in thickness and1cm in diameter, and it is not impressing upon the underlying cortex. However; I do have headaches but thats not my big concern now. Lately I am stumbling for words or studdering. At times I get confused for example driving on the wrong side of the road. Could something be going on with the meningioma? Should I have another MRI ? I had one in Jan of 2008.
                                                                                      Thank you

Hello.

The size of your meningioma does not indicate that it may be producing these symptoms.

If you are right handed, the chances are high that your left cerebral hemisphere (left brain) is dominant. The ability of word expression and speech is located in the Broca's area (area number 44, 45) in the cerebral cortex.

Since the meningioma is on the right side, I suspect there is some other cause for your symptoms. Certain other conditions which may alter the chemical make up of the cerebrospinal fluid should be explored and ruled out.

Regards

My friend has meniginoma and is procrastinating surgery, but her constant repeating and forgetfulness is getting very bad. Also she has severe bouts of crying, along with saying the same thing over and over. She says its from the tumor and i dont remember her ever doing it before. The last couple of months its getting worse. The Hospital has called and asked why she has scheduled anything yet, and she says she is just scared, what can I do as a friend? Can these symptoms be from her tumor, I know its on the front, right side of the brain. She also gets severe headaches and sometimes driving is a problem and she has an elementary child.

I have a meningioma by my right cerebellum.  It's something like 9mmx10mm.  The neuro's say it is benign and will not cause me any symptoms.   I have all kinds of neuro symptoms including some balance problems. No diagnosis.  I was told just to repeat the MRI every few years.
