Diagnosed with pineal gland cyst

What symptoms can this cyst cause? My daughter has had muscle tension and aches from her neck to her legs for a while now. I have read that the cyst may cause such problems. She also has headaches sometimes on the side of her head. Does the cyst enlarge with time?

The cyst was discovered with an MRI her neurologist ordered.

My daughter was diagnosed with a 4mm pineal cyst and has multiple problems she was born with. However I only just got a copy of MRI report from her birth and had not known all this time she had one. She also has hydrocephalus from birth making me wonder whether this was a cause??

I'm 22 yrs old, and have been diagnosed a year ago.  I'm at this point working on getting a second opinion for my cyst that was found in the pineal reagin.  I've had joint pains since I was a young girl, in which no diagnosis has ever been found.  At 13 yrs old, I started with anxiety and depression at the drop of a hat.  Around 18 yrs old I started having trouble sleeping, which was always told it was because of my anxiety.  When I start with constant headaches/migraines that could not be treated with any over the counter medications, I was given an MRI which locate the cyst.  The neurologist I went to said it had nothing to do with anything and that I just had cluster headache which lead to a migraine without doing any further tests. Over the past 6 months now I started to get night sweats.  There's no way anything that takes up room in your already cluttered brain doesn't effect you in some way.  Hope I can figure this out.

I have a cyst also. I have severe headaches, facial, eye, neck and skull pain. I also have a movement disorder. Not sure if I had seizures or what. At first I am limp then so tense I can't move. End up in ER with no help for my problem. I pass out, very confused and so on. I really think this cyst causes more problems than the doctors know. Take care.

Hi, pineal gland cysts in most cases asymptomatic and it is rare for a pineal cyst to cause symptoms. If they do, these would most likely be headache, visual disturbances, or hydrocephalus, which can be extremely dangerous if left untreated. Pineal cysts are not cancer and most of the time they do not enlarge over 2 centimeters. Taken from website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pineal_gland_cyst
