Is it Viral Meningitis?

On March 15th I  tested positive for mono.  Ever since then I have not been able to shake it.  Numbness and pins in needles have been going on for the last 2 months.  I experience burning or tingling in my feet, hands, face, nostril, eyes and legs .  It has been crazy to say the least.  I also have a very sore back  of  neck and also  an almost stinging pain underneath each shoulder blade.  It comes in goes but just does not seem to want to leave.  After having a spinal puncture tests came back stating my white blood count was 6 .  0-5 is normal I was told. My neuroligist diagnosed me with Viral Meningitis.  My vision is also starting to become blurry and dizziness has also plaqued me a bit.  I am a 31 year old in good health and just cant conclude Viral Meningitis.  Any advice would be wonderful! Thanks

Hi to Both of you! My husband has active EBV and has had it now for years. If you actually have EBV, Then at some point you have had mono. EBV is the virus that actually causes mono. Dennis' symptoms are pretty much like you talk about. The spinal that you talk about with a result of six would indicate viral meningitis. The tingling and pins and needles feelings are most likely due to this. Are you also dizzy?....Fever?..Headaches?....Seizures?...Just wondering!!  Best of wishes!

I am having some of the same symptoms that you describe. I have been dx'd with EBV which is mono, but I have never had mono. I have a ton of neurological symptoms and I currently have a dx of "clinical lyme disease". I don't buy this dx anymore, but I am on antibiotics because I have been dealing with this for 10 months. I still have no answers, have seen almost 20 doctors, and no one can seem to tell me anything. I have been worked up for MS and I have had a ton of other tests. My neurologists simply tells me to wait until September and get more mris. I dont know what to do or think about any of this anymore. Mine all started after a virus last year in July.
