Leg Pains ( Imaganiary Blood Clots ) Since DVT

Hi,

I'm a 22 year old Male, No Serious Health Problems, Slight Fatty Liver, Nothing in the family that would cause this kind of pain except fibromyalgia.

9 Months ago I had a DVT, Which broke off and became a PE. The DVT was in my Left Knee, and after 3 months of using Warfarin and several Ultrasounds and VQ Scans Later I was diagnosed as Fine and no more need for the Warfarin.

Ever Since I was on the Warfarin I was convinced it was eating away at my legs and muscles , My legs would always burn and swell, it felt like I had a blood clot in my leg if I sat for more than 1 hour and I'd have to get up and constantly stretch and jog to make the pain go away.

It's now been 6 months since I've finished the Warfarin and my Legs still ache, sometimes the nerves go crazy, other times theres a pushing feeling in the back of my knee's ( Either leg, either knee or either thigh ) I can only describe it as a blocked/pushing feeling that sometimes relives itself feeling like someones sprayed the area of my leg in pain ( with the imaginary blood clot ) with cool water for a second, then vanishes.

This problem is ruining my life, I cant sit for more than an hour and if I do my muscles/legs feel like they are on fire.

I've had an ultrasound nearly once a month and there's never any blood clots in my legs, Where do I go from here?

hi, about 18 months ago i was diagnosed with DVT in both legs. i was put on  100 mg of Clexane a day. unfortunately things got worse and i developed abcesses and an ulcer in my leg. i was hospitalised when i developed a blood infection and became really ill. i was in hospital for 3 months where they drained, and stitched me etc. since i came home 4 months ago i have put on 5 stone in weight which is not only affecting my joints and muscles,( i have terrible back pain, and my legs are really painful cos i still have the DVT), but its making me so depressed. i'm always tired. i have been to so many doctors but no one can help me. when the doctors find out that they cant get blood out of me cos all of my veins are collapsed they tend to lose interest.sometimes i can do a test  myself from my groin, but often the blood is so thick it wont come through the needle. my eating habits are fine and i am exercising as much as my body will allow me. i am on 7 mg of warfarin a day because my INR reading is always way under at 1.0- 1.4. has anyone else had any similar problems. i am a 43 year old female.

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

From your description of symptoms, it appears that due to clot disorder it may be leading to formation of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) that is a dysfunction of deep valves of veins. Symptoms appear as painful, burning, red, and warm leg. Sometimes DVT can lead to pulmonary embolism, when the clot dislodges from its site and travels to the lungs & appears as chest heaviness. Warm compresses, leg compression, pain killers and warfarin. If you suffer continuous weakness and pain in leg, please arrange an appointment with a doctor right away who will evaluate these possibilities here. Hope this information proves helpful to you.
