Pain & Numbness

My wife has had mild arm, shoulder, neck and back pain for a number of years. She has seen numerous specialists over that period which included an MRI that revealed 2 herniated discs and benign cysts at the base of her spine. 4 weeks ago her eyesight began to act up, what she sees can only be explained by her as people and things seem out of balance. The other symtoms that have begun are arm and leg pain and numbness, with hands and feet experiencing tingling, numbness and burning sporadically. She had another MRI 3 weeks ago by order of her neuro surgeon and was then reffered to a neurologist whom she saw last Tuesday, The MRI was for her neck and brain which was negative for MS,Stroke and Tumour. The one thing they did see is that she has degenarative nerves in her neck which they attest to being age related. She was admitted to hospital for further tests, which included blood work for infections and extensive eye tests with the Optomatrist,  and Opthamologist and an optic nerve test showed all is normal. The only thing the Neurologist could come up with is she should be treated by a physiotherapist as he states there is nothing wrong with her neurologically. She was discharged 3 days ago with no improvement and as a matter of fact her vision is now occassionally getting blurry. We are now back to square one with no diagnosis, no proper pain management in place and her problems still exist. Please help if you can we will listen to any idea that you might have to offer.

Hello dear,

Your wife can take Vitamin B supplement which prevents the demyleination of nerves. Also she can take gabapentin  to relieve the painif your neurologist suggests.Regular physiotherapy is the only treatment for your pain. She should do back extension exercises and yoga. Also you can try alternative medicines like homoeopathy.
