Second opinions for a Herniated disc treatment

I was recently diagnosed with a herniated disc at L4-5 and I am scheduled to have surgery to relieve pressure at L4 nerve root on May 26th and I am trying to avoid this procedure.I had pain 2 weeks ago in my R calf and now I have no pain now,but I do have numbness in my right calf and not as pronounced and I have no right patellar reflex. Can I do alternative rehab treatment instead of surgery(which is a micro diskectomy)? Can I get Rehab or chiropractic care to restore my right leg function? Also,is it possible to have an MRI report to be too over exaggerated?

I have been told by a Rehab physician that since I do not have any pain I really should not require surgery, but, what I have is loss of full function of my Right Leg and no patellar reflex(more like a pinched nerve) I guess my issue is settled but I am much stronger than what I was 5 days ago.
My dilemma is I work in a Physical Rehab facility and when I have the surgery I will be out 8 weeks or more all of June and probably all of July if my surgery is may 26th.
probably best for me to transfer to a different type of nursing.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
hi buddy,
why r u trying to avoid this procedure when all has been settled. if you are not convinced with you doctor, please change him. Rehab can help in restoring the function, however if the **** problem is moderate to severe, you will require a surgery, and that time your doctor might be fully busy,
So take the proper treatment.
