I am 28 and about a month ago I started getting semi-regular headaches, mostly in my left temple or behind my left eye. In the last week or so, I started getting very sharp pains in my left temple. Some times I have them as soon as I wake up, and other days I get them later on and several times throughout the day. I have been trying to quit caffeine, so the pains in my temple may be related to that.
Lately, in addition to the headaches I have been feeling, what I can only describe as, a general drunken feeling, without actually consuming any alchohol. I feel slightly dizzy and nauseous, but not to the point that the room is spinning or I have needed to vomit. The sensation is usually better in the morning after a good night ofi sleep, but usually returns by the end of my work day.
In the past eighteen months I've had three ocular migraines, where I temporarily lost some of my peripheral vision for a few hours, but my vision returned to normal after taking an 800mg Motrin and resting. I had a full visual exam about a year ago, for the firts time in my life, and with the exception of smoe poor depth perception, I had perfect vision and no intracranial pressure. The optomotrist said that my ocular migraines and headaches may just be from eye strain. Lately my eyes seem to get tired very easily, and sometimes even feel "strained" when I first wake up, which doesn't make sense to me. The symptoms in my eyes are usually worse after a long day of looking at the computer screen, sometimes to the point that I end up squinting at the end of the day, but I would think that a full night of sleep would make them better.
I'm not really sure if any of these things are related, but I have been becoming increasingly concerned about the number of headaches that I have been having and the dizzy/drunken feeling as well as the "strained" eyes, all happenign together.
I tried talking with my doctor, but he says that he thinks that the headaches may be from stress or eye strain as well and he didn't seem concerned about it, but I am becoming more concerned about it the longer it goes on.
Are all of my problems coincidental, caused by long days at a computer mixed with stress, or do I have cause for alarm that it might be something worse like a brain tumor? Should I try to convince my doctor that I need a CT scan or MRI?
