Sore head. How odd.

Hello. I've been noticing sore spots on my head. It's not very much like a headache. In the sense that they seem to actually be the scalp. The feeling is similar to a bruise, and if you have ever had longer hair, and have had your hair up in a pony tail for an extended period of time, then let your hair down. It produces the same feeling of soreness.

I'm pregnant, and I have been stressed out lately. I have also been having earaches. Which I am about to start taking antibiotics for.

Could this be related? Just curious.

Thank you.

I appreciate all of the feedback. I know we are not alone. I've seen this mentioned on a few Medical forums. I'd appreciate it if anyone found a possible cause to bring it up. I'm sure we would all appreciate it.

Good luck to everyone else suffering from this rather annoying problem.

Hi, I've had MS for 36 years and I've had this sore head symptom for many years also. I just always attributed it to scalp muscle spasms. Often I would increase my dose of baclofen. Some time it's just sore and occasionally it is so bad I can almost not stand it (and I can take a lot!)Tthere have been two times (separated by over 30 years) when I have had a smooth bump  on my scalp that didn't hurt the first time and did milldly the second time. The first time it was cut out and the doctor told me he'd never seen one that didn't at some pouint turn into a kind of arteritis. The second, more recent time, it went away on its own. I still can't say for sure what it is, but that's ok so long as it stays away a good long time again,Good luck, Jane

I have the same symptom. I have told the doctors I have been seeing lately and no one has come up with anything. I have explained it the same way as the ponytail, but they look at you like your crazy. Laying down makes it worse.  The sore feeling can last for weeks. My head is always sore around the crown area. I have resently been diagnosed with Lichen Planus and Licxhen Planopilaris. They thought I had Lupus, but after several blood tests and biopsys, the results showed different.  Still no one can explain about the sore feeling.   cjt
