cramping hands

i am in school for cosmotology and i have noticed that when i am styling hair or doing anything that involves tedious concentration, both of my hands tend to cramp up and go numb for long periods of time, it is painful much like a foot cramp or spasm but its starting to happen more and more.  My hands also shake a lot, and is uncontrollable always.  I do not have any health problems that i know of however my grandmother has severe osteoarthritis and i am worried that i may be at risk.  Is there anything i can do to control or rid of my problem hands?

Hi.

I am not sure but I guess your hands must be held in upward position for a long time. This reduces blood supply to the hands, leading to the symptoms. But, you also need to get a routine blood work done to see Hemoglobin and calcium levels. Low Hemoglobin level can cause symptoms of numbness and tingling when the hands are held in a position for a long time.

Please let me know of any other problems related to this. Do you feel tired easily ? How is your breathing when you get the cramps ?

Regards
