pain and swelling in and around nail of middle finger on left hand

About a year and half ago I was having acrylic nails put on and the girl that was replacing the nail on my middle finger of left hand.  She pried it off down to the skin in center and it bled.  She put an antiobiotic on it and then the acrylic filler on top.  In about a week it was hurting so bad I soaked it in a nail remover and removed it.  I went to my medical doctor and she said it had ruined the nail bed and it would take it a while to heal and to use neosporin on it.  I did that for about a month and it didn't help.  I then went to a dermatologist - she sent me for an x-ray and I was told it was arthritus, even though nothing hurt except under the nail.  She said not anything could be done and sent me home without doing anything.  The nail has hurt and is swollen (from over a year ago) and now the whole finger is turning crooked to the left and turning down.  I have pain under the nail like a splinter is there and I can straigten out my nail.  I recently went to an arthritis doctor  and he did a SED test and everything was alright.  He said it was osteo-arthritis evev when I kept telling him my finger nail was sore and I thought there was infection under the nail.  It has gotten worse and now the nail is turning blue around the cuticle and I cannot straighten out the finger.  What should I do or what do you think is wrong.  It ALL started with the nail problem.  I do not think it is arthritus with just my nail hurting

Hello Dear,
Acrylic nails are basically made by mixing a particular powder and liquid. The best liquid that can do no harm should contain Ethyl Methacrylate, also called EMA. This is slightly expensive.
However, a cheaper option is Methyl Methacrylate or MMA, but is known to have certain harmful effects. The only reason it is preferred while preparing acrylic nails is because of its cost effectiveness. Amongst its side effects are serious skin reactions and deformities in natural nail growth.Your symptoms are  complication of these and you need to discuss these with your dermatologist.
