trouble walking, please help!

I have been having trouble walking for 2 yrs.  I have fallen several times (legs just disappear from under me.)  I had cervical spine surgery last June.  I felt somewhat better until January of this year when I was at the gym and legs "disappeared" while on the treadmill.  I feel dizzy, weak, feel like my legs aren't going to hold me up, and sometimes feel like I have walking on a slant.  By the afternoon, I feel nausous.  My doctors have tested me for ms, tumors, nerve damage, diabetes and who knows what else.  My doctors think it is all in my head.  I don't know where to turn.  Any suggestions???

This discussion is related to neck problems equal to vertigo and headache.

The fact that you feel dizzy and weak makes me think it's not really your legs but possibly syncope or passing out or an abnormal heart beat.  Have you had a tilt table test or a stress test?   I'm not a doctor but I have researched this myself.  Have you had your heart checked out.

thank you for your response.

My last mri was in January.  I asked to be tested for ms, which is something I wanted to be tested for originally, but all the doctors refused!  No ms or tumor showed up. dr said I had normal wear and tear on my brain for my age.  I have had a weight change in the last year. I have lost 35 lbs, but it was intentional.  I joined weight watchers.  all my blood work came back normal, except for a bit high in colesterol.  I have always had motion sickness and ringing in my ears - nothing new there.  The last time I fell (at the gym), the paramedics said my blood pressure was very low (in the low 90's). no diabetes.  I try to go to the gym during lunch with co-workers. Afraid of the treadmill now so I ride the bike instead.  I take vitamin b supps along with other vitamins daily.  I also had vascular ultrasound which came back Ok, as well.

I am very frustrated.  I have an appointment with a chiropractor next week and an appointment with a hemeopathic dr the week after that.  The medical drs don't seem to care if they find answers.  Any other suggestions from you would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
When did you have your last MRI?

Have you had an MRI since your surgery?
Have you had any weight changes since or around the onset of symptoms?

Have you had any increase in motion sickness or ringing in the ears?

Have your blood tests revealed any anemia or increase in WBC count? Any elevation in ESR?

Sometimes, nerve damage or strain postsurgery can cause neurological symptoms.
Any hypertension or diabetes?

You can take vitamin B-complex supplements, folic acid, and DHA supplements to aid nerve healing.

Drink plenty of fluids, in excess of 2000 ml per day.

Start building up your stamina by exercises for the lower limbs. Do consult a neurologist regarding the suitability of exercises for your legs.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
