For pan cooking, use PAM Original, it's main ingredient is Lechithin, which is beneficial for reducing cholesterol..http://www.pam4you.com/pages/index_flash.jsp

I don't understand the coconut oil recommendations; it is very high fat/cholesterol
There are healthy oils. Your body needs some fats to function properly. Here's a great article explaining about different types of oils, which ones you can cook with, and which ones you can't:

I heard that coconut oil is supposed to be good for you.
As far as asking what you can use in place of oil, (for baking) sometimes you can use applesauce. It works well in cakes and brownies. Also, using prune puree in brownies will make them turn out real moist and you won't taste the prunes, no lie!
I see what you mean. I did read about canola and it creeped me out. I was thinking about using it on my garage door and door hinges. lol seriously! But I had allergic reactions to it so it was out. When I cook food sticks to my pots and pans. I need to grease it with some kind of oil. Just a little bit of olive oil cooking will trigger my asthma. Vegi, soy or peanut oil even in small amounts will trigger allergy. For the most part I need it to grease the pan so things don't stick.
Then on the other part I mix some oil in with foods like breads when I bake them and some home made cakes. I don't use much only about a tbsp or two in the flower to keep it from sticking. Same for my eggs to prevent sticking. I tried cooking stuff dry on the pans but they stick like concrete and I end up with no food and lots of cleaning. What other options can I use besides oil? I'd love not to use it but I don't know how people get things not to stick?
And I also use about 4 tbsp to make popcorn in the pot and I know that absorbs all the oil. That's the worst amount of oil I will use. Makes me feel sick as it digests. However I am allergic to all the other oils so that could also be allergy.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
Why do you need oils???? Learn to cook & eat while excluding all oils... some oils are healthier than others but no oils are good for you. Flaxseed oil had it's benefits, but I don't think it would be economical to cook with, plus an abundance of it would not be that palatable.. Did you know that Canola Oil was previously used as a mechanical oil during the war; slight modifications made it acceptable for human consumption. ??
What is healthier: a regular cigarette or a cigarette with a filter???????????
