Can you over eat with fruit?

I recently heard something about fruit having a higher sugar than in the past and that you can eat too much of it.  Can anyone elaborate more on this?

Thanks

Thank you for your suggestion and encouragement.  I stopped eating the oranges right away and until yesterday hadn't had one....the itching let up.

Oranges are also very high in acid, so eating too many isn't a good idea.  Fruit should be eaten in moderation, it's vegetables you should go to town on.

Thank you.  I will try that.  It is worse at night when I am trying to sleep and feeling the itching.  That with the fibro pains doesn't help me get good sleep.

I would say 99 % that it is from the Oranges and juice.
Stop eating and drinking it for a while and you will see the itching start to ease up.

I too am on thyroid medication after having RAI and TT with Hyperthyroidism and Graves Disease and have had no ill effect from the thyroid meds.

I have been itching under arms and neck area and now hands...been eating LOTs of oranges & drinking oj also in addition to other fruits.  I am on thyroid medication (in 2nd mo.).  I see my Doctor early part of May.  I don't know if the itching is from the meds or the abundance of fruit/sugar intake.

Thanks

I've had a gastric sleeve and have been told that I should only eat 2 pieces of fruit a day as the sugar content is massive.

Don't know about sugar levels but you can eperience extended periods of diarhea, and that drops your fluid levels, which drops your blood viscosity and makes your heart work harder. Eat fruit before a meal, even just a slice or two, and don't replace meals with fruit only.

Most fruits have a lot of sugar especially banana and watermelon.
Overeating oranges can cause hives too (because of the acidity).
My partner is diabetes (type II) and has to watch his fruit intake.
Apples are good but too much fruit juice isnt.
So yes I would say that too much fruit can cause problems with sugar levels.
