Eating raw rice with washing liquid

Hi everyone,
So I am very aware of my problem. I know that it's wrong and that it affects my health siand that this is serious (since I'm only 15 yeats old) but I just can't seem to stop. So as you can read from the title, I'm addicted to eating raw rice straight out of the bags, that they pack rice in and along with eating the rice I swallow washing liquid, I started off with small amounts but then as time passed by I drank a generous amount of it. I first only sniffed it but I just loved the smell so much that I had to start licking the lid off yeah that's where it began. I do it every day and I always think about it, even in school I always get excited of the thought of going back home and consuming it. The longest I have gone without it was for around 7-9 days and those were the crappiest days of my life so I relapsed and I can't stop whatever I do. It gives me that burning sensation, which I love and it makes me forget about everything as if I'm in another world. I just wanted to know your guys' opinion of that, I know it's not very common that people eat rice with drinking washing-liquid so yeah.

If your parents don't take you seriously perhaps reach out to a professor/teacher and talk to them about this in confidentiality.

OMG I never thought I'd find someone who drinks dishwashing liquid!!! I have the same exact cravings and have since a teenager. I mix it with water though. I've recently developed the raw rice eating as well. I don't know what the cause or effects are if any but I just think it's amazing to find out I'm not the only weirdo out there lol

Hi,

It sounds like you might want to investigate the possibility that you have Pica disorder. Here's a place to start:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pica_%28disorder%29

Sometimes this can start with a neurological imbalance or a mineral deficiency. Whatever it is, it goes without saying that it's extremely unhealthy to ingest detergent. (I don't know where to even start with the chemicals that you don't want in your body that are added to it! You don't even want most of them on your skin).

It's important that you reach out to both an MD & a therapist (as it's an addiction) about this. You're not alone. There seems to be an epidemic out there of people eating inappropriate substances. (I guess dish soap is one 'em -- something to add to the list).

Have you told anyone besides us about this?
