Won't swallow food

My daughter is 5 years old, she's 3ft 4" and weighs 2.5 stone.  I'm having problems with her swallowing food. She has always been a picky eater and wouldn't eat alot of the food me used to put down to her so we gave in and gave her meals that we knew she would eat. Recently however she's not swallowing the food that she normally eats no problem. She would sit there for hours then suddenly say she needs to spit her food out. She never used to do this and I am getting worried. Is this normal? Is she pitting on enough weight? Is she getting enough food? My family say it's just a faze she is going through and not to make a fuss about it round her, but I don't know what's for the best. Please help!!!

Thanks. I'll try that. At least I know it's normal.

It's normal, have you thought about making her a smoothie with fruits & vegetables just don't let her see what you're putting in it. Our grandchildren love them. you can get good recipes
off the internet.
