The best way to succeed is to not bring the unhealthy food in your home. If you dont have it then you wont eat it. Google recipes that are healthy using fresh veggies and fruit and lean meats and fish. Once you start you can really learn to adopt the lifestyle. My husband would be happy living on steak, donuts, and anything else that is bad for you. But once I got him into eating clean and he stuck with it for a week, he started feeling alot better and then when he slipped and had a bag of chips or something he realized that he felt awful afterwards. It becomes a way of life if you let it.
I can sympathize with your struggle. I am a 39 year old with hep c and I am constantly tired. I have started a heart healthy diet. This means I eat nothing but organic vegetables. I am pretty much a vegetarian now. I do eat some fish and chicken breast on occasion though. There are recipes galore on the internet. I mainly stick to the heart healthy and liver healthy recipes. It is a bit more expensive, but I have lost almost 20 lbs. in less than 3 weeks. This is not water weight either! I have cut out all sugar, salt, dairy, wheat, cocoa, and caffeine out of my diet. I also take quite a few supplements as well for for my hep c; which include milk thistle, MSM, saw palmetto, vitamin C, shark cartilage, and others. A supplement I do take for weight loss though is, Acai. This berry pill works great. I also drink pretty much nothing but tea. Dandelion Root tea, and many others. All caffeine free of course. I only eat fruit on an empty stomach. For exercise I just work out on the Wii Fitness for 1/2 an hour a day. This works really well for me.
