What foods should I avoid with diverticulosis

The above post is rather odd.  Are you really a doctor?  Peanuts are a legume, not a nut.  Nuts should be good for digestive problems, as they contain a lot of fiber.  Some raw vegetables are indeed very hard for anyone to digest, such as broccoli and kale, but others, such as sprouts and carrots, are not, so eliminating all raw vegetables is silly.  You say avoid carbohydrates, but all vegetables are carbohydrates, so are you saying don't eat any foods rich in antioxidants?  Cayenne pepper, for those who are used to it in their cultures, actually helps to heal the mucosal lining of the stomach.  Sesame seeds?  Really?  Onions?  Look, everyone is an individual.  What bothers one person or one region won't bother someone else.  You have to find your own diet.  There are basic rules, such as avoiding too much sugar, imbalancing the acid/alkaline nature of your digestive system, too much of the wrong kind of fat but getting plenty of the right kind of fat.  You want to be easy on your digestive system, and the stress angle is probably right.  You might want to look into meditation or some other relaxation technique that relaxes your body.  Personally, I'd go find a holistic nutritionist and experiment until you find a diet that heals you.  There are also natural supplements that can help balance your digestive system without the over-compensation that occurs with regular use of medications that lead to a rebound effect.  You have work to do, and homework, but ultimately you have to undo what you did and find what works for you.  Good luck.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!
Stress is an important predisposing factor for diverticulitis. Nuts, Hazel, Peanuts, sesame seeds, chillis, peppers, fried fatty foods, tomato juice, corn, onions, raw vegetables red meat, berries etc should be avoided. The prime cause of diverticulitis is the modern lifestyle, causing your body to become diseased by acids, sugars, carbohydrates, excess fats and uric acid etc.I sincerely hopes it helps.
Take care and regards!
