nutrition after flu

My husband and I are both recovering from flu-like symptoms.  He got a sandwich at a deli, last week, got sick soon after, and now I caught whatever it is he has.  Neither of us has felt like eating much for a week, except for rice and hot chicken broth,  Does anyone have any nutrition ideas?  Thanks!

Yes, I wondered how you can possibly "catch" food poisoning!  Maybe a cook or preparer had the flu and transmitted it.  Yet our doctor says the flu is not going around here (San Diego).    My husband is starting to eat lightly again, but I still feel like only eggs and broth several days later.  Thank you so much for your natural remedies suggestions!  Very helpful!

If you caught it, it isn't food poisoning, obviously.  Unless it's psychosomatic.  Could be neither of you really recovered from the flu.  If it is the flu and it's gone, you should be able to eat anything you usually eat.  If you still have a stomach bug, then you can only eat what you can tolerate, but to speed this along try buying a good immune system supplement such as Gaia's astagalus combination and try taking some olive leaf and some elderberry extract.  Good antivirals.  Good luck.

could have been food poisoning... just eat a very bland diet, keep it simple. Make sure you both are drinking plenty of fluids and foods should be as light and easily digestible as possible, which chicken broth is one of them. hope you feel better.
