Need advice!!!

Is there anything that I can do to bust my energy?

But why do you think this stuff is being written about all of a sudden when the foods have been eaten for centuries?  Usually because somebody wrote a book or article and it became a fad.  Then the fad passes, the guy stops making money on it, and a couple years later is talking about a whole other thing.  That's what I mean.  I've been through this for years because I was i the biz and watched this stuff come and go so fast it makes your head spin.  Now it's Greek style yogurt, tomorrow it'll be something else.  Medical doctors know nothing about food -- they aren't trained in it, though some do go and get advanced nutritional training, but usually in order to make money.  Like your Grain Brain guy -- he's making a fortune on this instead of practicing neurology because the money's better and the fame is probably nice too.  Probably started with the best intentions, but this is how the American celebrity culture operates.  So you may be right on this stuff and you may be wrong about it -- no way to know.  But mostly it doesn't answer the question asked by the person posting.  I'd love it if you could go back and do what you used to do, which is post this stuff as interesting food for thought, but I know you can't, but take this case -- neither of us know what's going on with this person, yet you advised him to eat specific foods for low blood sugar without knowing if that's got anything to do with what's going on with him.  It's a specific question, I know you're fascinated by this stuff and that's great, I've learned a lot from you over the years that made me think, but when someone posts a specific question we can hurt them by putting out general info that isn't perhaps the best thing for that person, though it might be for someone else.  That's my only beef -- you know I loved you on the alt med forum because your posts were intended to be general stuff we could all just ponder.  You do a lot of homework for us.  Peace.

Why would I mind you calling hummus a Mediterranean dip, other than it's not a dip to the people who eat it most but a main dish.  Its origins are unknown, though, so it may not in fact have originated in a country on the Mediterranean.  On the other hand, I don't think any of the foods you mentioned will increase energy necessarily.  You're assuming the poster has blood sugar problems.  We have not idea what his situation is as he hasn't said yet -- I asked, but he didn't answer.  I also don't mind Greek style yogurt but don't do much dairy myself.  But protein doesn't increase energy unless a person is deficient in it, an unlikely case in the western world.  Omega 3 doesn't boost energy either.  Your protein bar has a lot of honey, which will produce a crash.  It has dairy, which is proinflammatory and hard to digest and so can also cause tiredness, as can Greek style yogurt.  I think, by the way, that I said that the Greek style yogurt sold in most US markets isn't Greek style yogurt, and it isn't Greek style, it's a style used all throughout the Muslim world and India that uses a very thick yogurt that removes the water so it's very thick.  It's mostly used as a condiment.  The Greek style yogurt in the US is just a little thicker than regular yogurt.  And eating itself can cause a lack of energy if the person is eating enough food already -- it'll just make the person full and thus tired.  So until he tells us what his current energy level is and why he wants more energy -- to do what -- we can't answer the question.  Personally, I'd go to algae such as spirulina or bee pollen or adaptogens such as rhodiola or eleuthero given that they do increase energy without requiring the eating of more food, but the issues could well be dietary.  It's not a good idea to give people these boilerplate answers you find on the internet before we even know what the problem is.  That's usually what I object to in your answers.  I loved your posts back when you just gave out this information as food for thought, but they usually don't answer the specific needs of the questions being asked.  I'm not objecting, in other words, to your posts but their relevance to the posters.

Almonds contain magnesium and B vitamins help prevent the blood sugar crashes helps convert food to energy. Air popcorn is a whole grain carb. that
helps to stop blood sugar crash. Peanut Butter is a healthy fat that has protein and fiber helps stop blood sugar crash. Omega 3  boosts energy eat Salmon. Bananas,  They have fiber, B vitamins, and potassium that's good for energy and muscle function. Oatmeal has fiber, that takes a long time to digest. Hummus is also good it's a Mediterranean dip ( I think paxiled might not like me calling it a Mediterranean food LOL) the fiber and protein is good. Nonfat Greek Yogurt also has protein (I don't think paxiled likes this either :>) )

                                     Protein Bars Makes 5 Bars
Ingredients
8 scoops chocolate protein powder
1 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup natural peanut butter
3 tbsp honey
1/2 cup 1% milk
3 tbsp crushed peanuts
Directions
1. Mix together the protein powder, oatmeal, peanut butter, honey and milk.
2. Form into 5 bars and then roll in the crushed peanuts to finish.
3. Place in the fridge for about 30-45 mins or until solid
       Per Serving - 1 Bar
Calories: 452
Protein: 50g
Carbohydrates: 36g
Fat: 12g

Melatonin doesn't decrease energy, it sets the body clock.  Valerian and kava are relaxants that can give anxious people more energy.  B complex relaxes anxious people and only B12 will potentially increase energy.  Lets no confuse the guy.  I assume the guy wants more energy, that he meant burst, not bust, since it's rare anyone would write on here to decrease their energy.  Assuming that, we have to know what you mean -- you have a lot of energy but want more?  You have no energy and want some?  You're ill or have some physiological ailment and want to overcome it?  We all need more info to know what you mean.
