Try painting your nails when you crave something, that way you won't want to eat when your nails are wet :)

For me, the more sugar I eat, the stronger the cravings get. Once I'm aware, it's easier to get back on track a little at a time, maybe eating oatmeal or a couple of eggs for breakfast instead of a sugary cereal. Keep in mind that it's protein that keeps you satisfied, and the eggs have 8 or 9g of protein apiece.

You should read Allen Carr's book "EasyWay to lose weight" ! It will help you with your sugar addiction! I've read one of his books, and I've stopped smoking thanks to him!

Get rid of the sugar in your house, including junk foods. Without it there you won't be tempted as much. I've gone through this and it *****. You feel defeated when you eat it. Id suggest finding a workout buddy or diet buddy that will hold you accountable for eating clean. In the end its all mind over matter. You can do it. Sugar doesn't control you and you don't need it. You'll be much happier without it, I promise you that. Good luck. Stay strong ^.^

I still eat too many sweets, but I only eat them as dessert.  I make sure none of my meals contain added sugar -- never cook with it.  And I only eat desserts I buy in health foods stores, so they only use natural sugars and no added weird ingredients.  That's about as good as I've been able to do, but it's a lot better than before.

I am too!! i love sugar! When I'm craving something sweet I eat fruit.. My favorite is pineapple BC its so sweet. Its still sugar but natural sugar which your body process's and responds to differently than white sugar. Fruit is also a lot lower in calories than white sugar. Raisins and dates help to get rid of my cravings as well.

It's like any other addiction -- it's very hard to quit because you are in fact addicted and your nervous system is craving more.  To overcome it you have to stop eating the sugar and go through the withdrawal, though with sugar it isn't as extreme as stopping addictive drugs.  Getting some help with it may help.  Cutting down can help as well, as it provides positive momentum.  And learning more about why you need to hide behind this sensory experience in the first place can also be of great help.
