Adhesion treatment

I recently had ORIF of compound fractures of the radius and ulna in my right arm.  Apparently due to swelling the surgeon did not suture the fascia to avoid compartment syndrome.

The scar on the inside of my arm is adhearing to the muscle and tendon that control my thumb and when fully extended the scar is pulled toward the hand to the point that pain can be felt similar to pulling off a hangnail under the scar.  It also move significantly when the thumb is bent as if trying to touch the palm.

I have a piece of plastic from my pt that I was instructed to use to massage the scar and surrounding skin around to loosen the adhesion.  My surgeon says he thinks the scar will just loosen over time.

I will continue to discuss how I handle this with them but wanted to ask the opinions of the forum as well.  In this situation are there any special suggestions people have to treat the adhesion?  I am 1 month post op.

Thanks!

Thanks for the answer!

I will ask about the things you suggest to make sure my surgeon and doctor approve me taking them.

Do you think that when the fascia heals it will seperate the scar tissue from the muscle (thus solving my adhesion) or will I have to take other measures?  I ask because I am trying to be as proactive as I can in my healing process.

Thanks again!

Hello Devedander,

I do understand your concern well. The fascia would take some time to resolve. To accelerate the healing process I suggest that you take oral dissolutive enzymes like chymotrypsin and trypsin for the effective healing. Also take serratiopeptidase for better results along with some painkillers like ibuprufen.
