Fractured pointer finger

I fractured my pointer finger on my left hand 3 weeks ago. Instead of going to the doctor, I let one of the xray techs at work xray me and then I splinted my own finger. Now, 3 weeks later, I can't bend my finger and it is extremely painful. My Aunt, an Orthopedic Surgery Nurse, is suggesting surgery....

Instead of having everyone else give you a diagnosis, why don't you actually go to a Dr?  That would be better than having an xray tech and an orthopedic nurse treat you.

I have the same injury and it's where the tendon attaches. The loss of mobility may be permanent. :(

Hello!

Do not come to conclusions about surgery.

The most important thing is to do a manual reduction and putting your finger in a splint or going for a buddy plastering.

If you might have done this procedure for 3-4 weeks then I am sure you might have healed your fracture.

Check by an X-ray and if your bone has healed there is nothing to worry and this is called stiffness and with physiotherapy you will be fine.

Take care!
