Hip Pain

I am a 31 year old mother of 4 boys. I was in a car accident when I was 15. I received multiple fractures to my hip, which I didn't know about. In 2006, my back started to bother me really bad so I decided to go to a specialist. During the X-rays they found the old fractures of my hip. I have lived with the pain for 15 years and 8 months ago finally had enough of it. I got a hip replacement in Feb. I was told after the hip replacement I would feel immediate relief. Unforunately after I woke up in the recovery room, i was in so much pain that I begged them to put me back out. I have been doing therapy since then, but have only seen little improvement. I have also had multiple X-rays done and was told that everything is fine with the mechanics of the hip. I have been taking Perocets for a long time now and don't want to get addicted to them, but they are the only pain killer that works on me. My 4 boys are 13 years old and younger. I am not able to play ball with them or really play anything at all with them. This really ***** for me because I am an outgoing person and love to do things with my children. I recently went back to the Doctor and he said that I may have Hip Bursitis. He get me a cotizone injection, but I felt like I was worse after we did it. My pain lessened for awhile but then came back full force. So my question is what do I do now? Are there any other options besides surgery? I have also tried heat, ice, pain meds, anti-inflammatorys, chiropractors, etc. I am really scared to do surgery if that is my only option because of the amount of pain I was in from my last one. If anyone know anything else I can do please help me!!!

Also have you gotten a second opinion? If not you might want to try that route.

Has anyone done an MRI of your back. I know someone who had horrible hip pain and it turned out that she had herniated a disc at L5S1.

I hope this helps,
