Pins and needles and foot pain after a distal fibular fracture, is this normal?

Hello,
I recently had an ankle fracture which x-ray indicated to be a "oblique distal fibular fracture with near anatomic alignment". I am in a pneumatic boot which I am to leave on other than showering; and I am also non weight bearing other than showering. Over the last couple of days I have developed a pins and needles sensation in my foot at random times as well as quite a bit of pain in the foot when I do bear wait to shower. Is this something that is normal or do I need to expedite my next ortho appointment? Thank you.
