Shoulder Worries

Am 4 weeks post op for capsular release and mua on shoulder. I ve been exercising at home but have had no active physio in that they refuse to strech my arm above 90° (i dont know why as surgeons notes stated no restrictions with physio full movement to be achieved asap). How long does a shoulder take to refreeze? Its already more painful than 2 weeks ago and the upper arm cramps are driving me insane. Thanks

Thanks for your reply... this is my second op to release my tight capsule (was just a mua at the first time). My physio has done nothing with me to be able to gradually work up to full movement. All i get is my movement measured and exercises on a sheet of paper. My post op movement was 150° compared with 90° i have now! When the surgeon spoke to me after operation he said my shoulders was an absolute mess like id fallen from a building and landed on it in terms of scarring and adhesions. If my arm is not taken above 90°   in 4 weeks scaring and adhesions have probably already formed?

You can't really say an exact time frame that it takes a shoulder to 'refreeze' as every shoulder and every patient are different.  They will work your shoulder gradually, working up to the full range that your ortho wants, based on what you can do.
