I wanted to solicit some advice concerning socks or shoes.
Two years ago my left leg began to swell. The first time it was horrible. It seems to stem from bad veins/bad circulation. I have bad veins in my right too, but not so bad apparently since it doesn't do this. I wear compression socks often, and the lower leg will slowly swell a bit if I am on my feet too much, particularly without compression socks. It's primarily the ankle area, but it can go a bit further up, not to the knee though.
I was curious if there was something more "heavy duty" than regular compression socks. If I go for certain kinds of jobs, I may need something stronger. Some of these jobs are physical labor, w/12 hour shifts. I do not know if the cheap, thin compression socks I've worn till now would help me with such long shifts.
I had thought diabetic shoes might help, till someone told me they usually DON'T apply as much pressure on feet, to avoid discomfort and abrasions.
Can you point me in any particular direction?
