Tibia and fibula still broken one year later

I had surgery after an auto accident one year ago.  Recent xrays show a complete non union of fibula and a partial union of tibia with a very visible fracture line through tibia and about a 40% fill in of calcium.  There is a steel rod inserted from knee to ankle with screws.  Xray shows the tibia screw protruding into the head of the fibula and lateraly rotating the fibula.  My leg is still extremely painful but my doctor insists that everything is normal and that I don't need any pain medication yet he's telling me to take Ibuprophen which is reaslly working bad on my stomach.  It's been a year and doesn't seem to be improving!  Is this really normal?

Sorry to hear that you too are a victim of orthopedic butchery.  These overpaid quacks care not about the harm that they are doing.  It's all about the money.  They don't set bones anymore and allow the body to heal.
More than 3 years later i still have a broken leg.  A butcher named Sutton installed all this metal in me and it is total agony.
Most people that i have talked to never heal until they get this metal out.  I don't have the money to do so but have talked to several others that went through 7-8 surgeries before it healed with any satisfaction.
Good luck to you and i hope you can heal.

How are you now? I'm having a similar problem. All of the screws in my ORIF are too long. One has made a dicey in my fibula. Very painful. Wondered how your case turned out. Thanks.
