My healthy nine year old boy fractured his tibia. How long is the recovery process for a nine year old? Also, will he be able to be as strong as he was prior to the injury? Will he need physical therapy?
Hi,
I feel nice that I could be of some help to you and your family.
You are right in thinking that by giving emotional support and help, he would recover faster.
You can encourage him to get better and try to pep him up with things which he likes.
I would like to know about his condition and further development.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
Bye.
Many thanks to you for your reply.
I think at this point in time we are going along with you of this being stress related as he shows no symptoms during the daytime. He leg was broken when he was run over by a "friends" vehicle which has traumatized him far more than we have realized.
We will continue to monitor his condition/behavior and give more support to his emotional well being.
Once again many thanks for your help, advice and time it is very much appreciated.
Hi,
I can understand how courageously and patiently you would be dealing with this situation.
Headache in pediatric age group is common.
How is your son feeling now?
The most common causes of headaches are migraine, increased intracranial pressure, and psychogenic factors or stress.
Refractive errors, strabismus, sinusitis, and malocclusion of the teeth are much less common causes of significant headaches in children.
In your child's case it appears to be due to stress or infection as he has fever too.
Are there any other associated symptoms present apart from headache like vomiting, blurring of vision etc?
I think you can see a neurologist and an ophthalmologist to see if any possible organic cause exists.
Hope this helps you.
Keep me informed.
Bye.
