frozen shoulder

I have had a frozen should for six months.  PT has not been successful for me.  The orthopedic surgeon I was referred to said I have a moderate to severe frozen shoulder and recommended manipulation under general anesthesia.  He said I would have PT for a few weeks after and should be better after that.  Are there risks, like risks of broken arm or more damage to the shoulder?   I am seriously considering doing it b/c I cannot stand the pain any longer and want to get it over and done with.  But I am afraid.  Is the PT very painful after the surgery?  I need help making a decision.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis causes restriction of movement at the shoulder joint.

There is no particular reason but if you have a reason like endocrine or other systemic conditions you need to get treated to help you relieve of the symptoms of frozen shoulder.

Try proper physiotherapy, ice packs on shoulders and also cortisone injections and if all the methods of conservative treatments fail then consider surgical intervention or manipulation under general anesthesia.

Take care!
