About a year ago I got orthotics for my shoes because I was flat footed. Before that I would wake up with Charlie horses. Now that is very random and aren't nearly as bad.

I would advise seeing a doctor and having your potassium checked before you start taking random minerals.  They can cause even more problems if you havent had your current problems taken care of.  Also, the potassium controls your heart, so with your age, you need to have it checked to make sure it is at the proper level.  Please do not start taking random minerals just because someone on here tells you to.  No one can diagnose you without seeing you and running the proper bloodwork on you first.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Check with a present day X-ray and diagnose if you are having flat foot with the help of a podiatrist.

If you are flat footed then start wearing proper supportive foot wear and also insoles. You would also need to check for any local injury, your mineral balance and your blood hemoglobin values.

In some cases, surgery is necessary to relieve the symptoms and improve foot function.

Take care!

You might want to see a doctor to have your potassium checked, it can cause the charlie horses.  I was always told to eat bananas if I had a charlie horse.  But like I said, you probably need to see a doctor to have your potassium level checked.  It could be nothing, but it could be something.  I hope this helps.
