numbness after surgery

i had surgery 3 days ago for a fractured collarbone.  it was a bad break and a plate and screws were put in.  everything seems well except an area of numbness under the inscision and in the arm .  is this normal and what timeline can i expect for improvement?  thank you

the nerves regenerate very slowly...about an inch a month. this is quite normal around the incision site. when they make the incision small nerves may be damaged, but should improve over time but possibly not fully. only time will tell. good luck!
