ulnar nerve transposition surgery

What type of top should I wear on the day of my ulnar nerve transposition surgery?  The doc's assistant couldn't tell me.  Will I have a monster-sized dressing?  Will the arm fit through a normal tshirt?

Thanks!

Hi incredible, thanks for your reply. Hope you are doing fine? You can wear a decent full sleeves casuals, which will certainly be fitting as I feel wound dressing might not be too layered. Possible splint could be to restrict the movement at elbow joint. Anyway do not worry and get the procedure done. Thanks for reply and take care.

Your arm will be in a splint so you should wear a
t-shirt type top that can fit over it when putting it on.
Just wear something loose and comfortable.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Suri123, for your help.  This is an outpatient procedure, so I will not be receiving a surgical gown.  I will be in the car for 100 miles after the surgery and need something that will look appropriate in city traffic.

Any clues will be appreciated.

Hi incredibelle, how are you doing? Relax! You need not get worried about the kind of top to wear upon on the day of procedure as you will be given the operation theater gown while surgery and thereafter the normal hospital wear when you will be shifted to you special ward. Probably you may have to be observed for couple of days for regular follow up and the daily/alternate day dressings. I don't think you will be getting a huge dressing anyway. Speak to your attending surgeon regarding your concern. Take care.
