when does the pain settle

i broke my wrist and arm 12 days ago and i've k wires in place, i still have lots of pain and different types of pains, my hand and arm cramp occasionally, i've throbbing too but it also comes and goes, electric shock pains the odd time and tingling.  It does settle if i dont move around but I,m concerned, i broke my wrist before and the pain settled down well after a few days. There is no sign of infection so I dont think thats whats wrong.  Has anyone any similar experience????

Hi there!

The pain following fractures/ surgery is mostly due to inflammation and oedema, which is likely to settle in a few days/ weeks as inflammation subsides and healing takes place. Meanwhile I would suggest resting the wrist, while use of ice-packs and tylenol/ OTC NSAIDS may be helpful for relief.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

HI,
Some amount of cramps and discomfort can be expected during the healing process. Tingling and neurological symptoms can be because of nerve damage. But as the pain and cramping you have is severe you need to see your Doctor to see whether everything is well.
Take care and good luck.
