CA-125 Normal

Hi I asked about my serous borderline ovarian tumour and thanks for the reply. I know a hysterectomy is the right way to go. I think my consulant is very concerned with the fact even though the is a serous borderline ovarian tumour the CA-125 the test always came back normal. Which is why he doesn't want me to risk my health. But what I can't understand is why nothing showed up in my blood? Nothing really makes sense to me, can you help me shed any light on this before I have to make my decision?

You need to have this out.  A CA-125 test is not always accurate and is generally only relevant (and even then in some women it does not reflect reality) to monitor disease in women with ovarian cancer after surgery.  It can be fine and you still have cancer and it can be elevated and you may not have cancer.  Please don't fool around.  They can't be sure until it is removed.
