Could I have a UTI after cyst surgery

Hi my 16 yr old daughter had an 8cm paratubal cyst removed Fri. They put a catheder in during surgery. Now she is still feeling nauseated, burining when she urinates, and feeling like she's not emptying her bladder. Could this possibly be a UTI?

Thanks, I've been making her drink water and juice plus taking cranberry capsules because she will not drink cranberry juice.

It could be an UTI, but more likely it is just the irritation form having the cathater.  On my last surgery I had to come home with a cathater for a week and let me tell you, when they took it out, I felt the exact same way.  It could also be a bladder infection.  I would call her doctor tomorrow and see what he thinks.  For now, I would have her lay off of any soda and drink lots of cranberry juice and water.  This will help clense out her bladder.  Hope she gets to feeling better soon.  Such a young age to have to deal with this stuff.  Kasie
