Cyst removal Help!

Late December I started experiencing right side abdominal pain. I knew immediately it was an ovarian cyst. (1 and a half ago I had the same problem. Went from Dr to Dr no answers.) I went in to the Doctor and had an ultra sound on New Years Eve day. I was told that I had a 5.5 cm simple cyst. I was given pain medicine, the pain was terrible, and sent on my way. After a few weeks the pain had subsided only to return a few days later. I went back to the Doctor had another ultra sound that showed a 3 cm simple cyst. I was then referred to a specialist. Two weeks ago the pain became so severe that I could not get out of bed. The specialist did a pelvic exam and did not feel anything. But decided to schedule a laparoscopy.
I had the laparoscopy last week. I was so nauseous after the 4 hour procedure that I was unable to talk to my Doctor. The next day she called me and told me that she was shocked to find a cyst larger then my uterus! She also said that I have several adhesions all around my ovaries and uterus. The cyst already had a slow leak. She partially drained the cyst before removing it. It was filled with a yellow mustard colored liquid. (I have pics and in them it looks like a thick liquid) She said she sent in a sample of the cyst and liquid. That was all she told me on the phone. Now I sit and wait for my appointment in a week and a half. I am slightly worried. I have many forms of cancer in my family. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experience with these types of cysts and having several adhesions. I guess the shock in my Doctors voice has left me worried. Maybe I am reading too much into it. Please help. Oh I should mention I am 29 years old and take very good care of my body. I am also the Mother of a 4 year old. Thank you.

Thank you for your story TrudieC. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as well. I'm still clueless to what type of cyst I had but my Doctor appointment is getting closer.
I am starting to feel like myself again, which is nice. I still get tired easily and I have been having a shooting pain on my right side that is a bit bother some. But I think it's because I was not thinking and picked up my sleeping daughter. (she weighs 30lbs) It is just a natural habit but it was definitely painful. I'm really anxious for my appt and I need to keep reminding my brain to shut up. ;) When you are limited to what you can do your brain really starts to wander. So I'm thinking positive and trying to take it easy. =)

I also had a cyst (actually a cluster of cysts that had bled together) bigger than my uterus removed.  It was also drained but I was not told what the fluid was.  All was benign.  I also have terrible adhesions.  I had had 10 previous surgeries including many for intestinal issues and ectopic pregnancies.  When I had my surgery my gyn took a general surgeon in to ensure all was OK with my intestinal area because of my past and the risk for hurting my bowels further.  Because of the high risk with this surgery I asked to have a total hysterectomy to avoid any future need.  They only ended up removing my cysts, the ovary and tube.  Every single organ in my abdomen is coverd in adhesions and they are glued together.  I have been getting cysts since my surgery but fortunately they have been resolving themselves.

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a positive outcome.  Please keep us posted.
