Dermoid Cysts

I had 2 dermoid cysts removed via laproscopy last week. One was the size of a grapefruit and twisted twice on its stalk on my left ovary and the other on my right ovary was the size of a softball. I went to the ER in pain and had them taken out a few days later. The Dr also said he removed parts of my ovaries but left some ovary tissue on both sides (more on the right than the left). He was really vague and will find out more info at my followup. My question is how is this going to affect me fertility. I do want more kids.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. My Dr.  did remove part of my ovary because he said the tissue looked unhealthy. How much ovarian tissue do you need to get pregnant.

HI,
During cyst removal only the cystic part is removed and the normal ovarian tissue is preserved. Hence this should not affect your fertility in any way. Consult a gynaecologist for follow up. Hope this helps.
Take care and good luck.
