Does this mean that im infertile?

Because my periods are usually very off balance, a friend of mine mentioned to me that I could have ovarian cysts.
She claims that I might not be able to have kids, if I do have ovarian cysts.
Is this true? Is it a temporary thing? I have no idea about it. Is it even possible to get them at a young age?

Don't lose hope.  I didn't have the same situation as ireneo but I did have issues with cysts and TTC.  Once the cysts were removed I became pregnant within 6 months - both times!

It sounds like you are young and not even worried about TTC right now anyway , so when you go in for your anual pap, discuss the abnormal periods with your Doc, or do so sooner if there is pain.

I had problems with ovarian cysts in my teens. My hormones were out of whack, my periods were unpredictable. My doctor put me on birth control pills for awhile to straighten things out but when I went off, the cysts came back.

I married, wanted kids but a new doctor told me because I was so thin, my body wasn't working quite right. I gained 10 lbs, monitored my temperature and eventually had 3 children.

So cysts and crazy periods does not necessarily mean you'll never have kids. You just have to find the cause and fix it or work around it.
