I need a little reassurance about what my gynae consultant is going to be doing to me, as im a little concerned about the 3/4 cyst i have in my only ovary left they think they are haemorragic ones, but I was told not of the scans or mri will tell them properly until they do surgery and have a look approach, i know these cyst will be bigger now and Im scared as I have family history going against me with ovca
Are they gonna be able to preserve my ovary with at least 3 cysts all at 5cm each total of 15cm and poss more now i dont think so , i had my blood work done in oct when i had only 2 cysts but have grown more now, but my gynae says he does not need to do it again, i feel the need to ask again for my ca125 marker done again as things can change especially as i have enlarged lymph nodes.
Well at last, and again more surgery Im scheduled for urgent surgery within the month, but my consultant still really worries me, im having a laproscopy this time, as because its only 6 months after last surgery to remove the cyst and massive adhesions, he is going in just to see what they are dealing with first, and then if ave to convert to laproatomy if needed, i think my bladder and bowel have stuck down again, but have 3 haemorragic cysts over 5cm in my only ovary and he does not have concerns about it, just like last time and i ended up in a mess, i have told him that i would like to preserve my only ovary if possible, hope my surgeon does not try to drain these cysts as there is 3 of them.
He has told me its pointless doing a ct scan as it does not really tell them what is going on at all best way forward is to go and look, but what worries me how are they going to get thes cyst out without taking my ovary
My surgeon has scared me about the implications of hrt and the problems women have with it when they are young im 42
i also keep wondering why i keep on growing these big cyst especially 3 at 5cm they must be causing damage to the ovary, i have a funny feeling my ovary is dead, but im scared about hrt
will they have to biopsy these cyst again i have a funny feeling these are not haemarragic cysts but something else
O ver the last 2 weeks i have been suffering with swollen glands in my neck, shoulders and groin and my underarm so im freaking out wondering what this is and what it is im fighting.
Hi, thus sounds awful. I am in the UK and they don't seem to be taking mine seriously either. I have a large dermoid which seems to ne growing by the day. Much pain, front and back. They have said they will remove it but its taking ages even just to get a date. I have considered going to a and e. I think the amount of pain u r in u should def go emergency room and kick up till they help u. It's disgusting u have been left with so little help.
Not to sure whats going on here if things do not get any better then i will be going to the emergency dept, as i feel really strong pulling, as though something is pulling inside that it feels so tight, and a strong bearing down in the bottom of my pelvis, and the bottom of my back is so painful, im struggling to sit up right and anything around my waist just causes more pain, I was driving home tonite and i was just crying cos I was in a lot of pain, it beats me my doc telling me I should not be in so much pain with these cyst, I also have refered pain in my left side, even though, i dont have my ovary there or my womb, just so fed up with this now
I too am sorry that you are dealing with so much pain and such compassionate doctors. Is it possible to get another opinion? If you think that a torsion is happening, then you need to get to the doctor ASAP because if not taken care of it can be extremely dangerous!! I live in the USA so things may be different here, but please seek different medical attention as soon as possible. Please don't let them take this lightly. Fight for your health ;-) We are here for support anytime you need us.
I am so sorry you are suffering so much. They probably saw the fluid on the scan to conclude the cysts were hemorrhagic. The fluid causes pain while the body works to reabsorb it. These cysts really should be removed if they are complex. The possibility of torsion is something they also need to consider. There have been a few stories in this forum where doctors waited so long they put women's lives at risk from possible gangrene with dead organs (ovaries/tubes) found from lost blood supply caused by torsion. If the pain does not respond to pain killers or heat pads, you may be in need of emergency surgery.
I am also confused...I do not consider complex cysts and functional cysts to be the same. Functional cysts should be "simple" fluid filled cysts. If you were told "complex", that 's contradicting information. Finally, just doing the math, three 5cm cysts equals 15 cm of cysts. It is insane to make you wait. The fluid within 15 cm of cysts is too much. No wonder you are in pain. Can you get to different doctors than this neglectful bunch?
