teratomas on both ovaries, any way to preserve fertility

pp1
Could somebody please advise if there is anyway to preserve fertility if there are teratomas on both ovaries.
My doctor said surgical removal is needed for both, and that means infertility, which is horrifying to me as I am not yet married and wanted to have my own child in the future.
Thanks very much for your help.

Thank you very much Hisista. So who the surgeon is is very important.
I wonder if the size of the teratomas would be a deciding factor. Mine are big, one is 10cmx7cm, and the other is 5cmx4cm and there is a smaller one next to these two big ones. Could you advise on that?

Thanks again.

I had teratomas on both ovaries, the first doctor said he would have to do a total hysterectomy!  I got a second opinion, and this dr saved both my ovaries and didn't even have to do a laparotomy.  My advice would be to get a second, or even a third opinion - u have your whole life ahead of u and u need to make sure the dr knows how important it is to preserve your fertility.
