Has anyone had a mri for diagnosis?

I was told last week that I had a 16 cm cyst and left ovary that needed to be removed.  Next week I'm scheduled for an mri.  I have noticed people on this forum talking about ct scans.  Has anyone else had a mri prior to surgery?

No it is not the cyber knife. It is called the DaVinci system. It is supposed to be really cutting edge as far as surgery goes. I will keep you posted.
Please check into a gyn/onc in your area. Like I said before, I am not suggesting you have cancer, but they really are the best of the best with womens reproductive systems. They have 3 additional years of training in the specialty as opposed to regular gyns.
Take Care.

Are you having surgery with a cyber-knife, with my current job I help make the cathode or the heart of the cyber-knife.  I currently only have a gyno.

Hi,
Im having robotic surgery. It's kinda like high tech laparoscopy. I hope he doesn't have to revert to a laparotomy. I have a huge cantolope sized fibroid  also. He thinks he can get it all out vaginally but like I said before, you just never know until they get in there.
Both my ovaries have large lesions, but he is pretty confident of his robotic technique..
He is a gyn/onc and I really have faith in him.
I will just be glad when it is all over.
Are you seeing a gyn onc?

Hi There,
I had an MRI after multiple transvaginal US as they figured it would give a better picture as to what the lesions on my ovaries are. I have been going through the watching and waiting game for months now but am having surgery on Oct 15th. Weather they do US/MRI/CT scans, the only definitive way to find out what the cysts or lesions are is to have surgery.
When are you scheduled for surgery?
