I know that well...getting tired easily. It is a long lasting side effect and the nap is important. Returning to full time work is rough. I think our bodies were meant to have that midday nap but we don't give ourselves that rest until forced into by surgery and a medical leave. I am still out of work and am having doubts that I can work an 8+ hour day anymore. I know my body hates the idea.
thanks I am starting to feel better though I get impatient with my own limitations. I work in an office and sit at a desk all day. Yes it is not strenous but it is high stress. Right now I can't imagine getting through a day without a nap. I get so tired so easily.
I am glad the insurance co. ended up allowing a longer hospital stay and 6 weeks home instead of 4. What kind of work do you do? Walking quickly can still be tough even after 6 weeks and being upright sitting or standing for hours also a challenge. I brought a pillow in to squeeze to my surgical area when it felt sore and it made my desk job more tolerable. I returned to work Week 6 but got permanently laid off 4 weeks after that. I still blame it on my surgery and long recovery. Insurance co's will try to save money first. Every day in the hospital adds a lot to the bill. It is sad that a patient has to fight for more complete care but some recoveries simply cannot be rushed and it could be dangerous to discharge someone too soon and without home assistance. This was a big deal surgery that you had. Feel free to vent. You earned it. Best wishes for a full recovery and may you feel wonderful now that the monster cyst is gone.
