Just had surgery

Hi there. I was interested in what others had to say about their experiences with ovarian cysts. I just had surgery last Friday to remove two very large cysts (they were drained) on was grapefruit sized, the other baseball sized, one on each ovary.

I'm curious how long you all felt pain after surgery, or did the pain never really go away totally? thanks for any information you can give!

goaliemomt that is exactly how i'm feeling. Its frustrating when you really want to get things back to normal and keep getting stopped. But I do realize its only been a week. I'm really praying that I will heal up well and these cysts will not return.

I had a very large cyst tennis ball size removed 2 weeks ago and I still feel pain on the inside when I am doing too much.  One day I will think wow I feel great, and I start to do too much and then I start getting a dull ache inside.  I am a firm believer the more rest you give yourself the quicker you will heal.

Thanks! I'm trying to rest as much as I can. Its sometimes difficult because I start to feel alot better and get up and start doing things then its like ohhh I better go sit, lol. I'm hoping that these cysts don't come back because I would just love to go a month without feeling like i'm on my period all the time:(

Hi and welcome to the forum!!  You will find that many awesome women on here will be able to give you great advice.  If you had a laprascopic surgery then you may feel pain for as little as 2 weeks or as long as 6 months (not bad pain that long just twinges of pain :-)  The thing to remember is that our insides heal slower than our outside does.  When you are doing too much, your body will let you know.  REST is the key!!  Give your body plenty of time to heal.  You will feel better each day as long as you don't do too much and you rest as much as possible.  The pain will eventually go away.  Hope your recovery is fast and you feel better soon.
