Mildly complex cyst

Does anyone have any experience with a cyst termed "mildly complex"?  I have heard of simple and complex so what would mildly complex be?  I got my US report and that is what they called it, Large, mildly complex cystenoma (or whatever the word is, don't have it in front of me).  I have read that if it is 5cm or larger they usually need to remove them, mine is 4.9cm x 4.8 cm.  Is that hysterical?? Anyway, I have an appt. with the gyn/onc on Tuesday, the same one who removed my other ovary and a solid tumor (benign).  But I'm just wondering if I am on the right path.  My doc ordered a regular pelvic US due to pain, pressure, all the normal symptoms, after 2 rounds of anitbiotics for a bladder infection that didn't help.  The motrin was doing nothing anymore so I have been taking Ultram for the pain.  She (my doc) suggested that I go to a gyn instead of waiting another 6 to 8 weeks for another US due to the pain.  I decided to just go back to my gyn/onc.  Just becasue last time I was referred to a gyn, who then referred me to a gyn/onc anyway.  I decided to cut out the middle man but now I'm worried that it may be overkill.

I guess my question would be....am I on the right track?  I have read all over the place that cysts rarely cause pain, blah, blah, blah, and I've been miserable for 3 months at least.  If it is not the cyst causing the trouble, then I want someone who knows what they are doing to find out what is causing the problems.  Does anyone have any experience? What do you think the gyn/onc will do? Order another US, maybe a transvaginal?  I guess I'm getting nervous about my appt and I don't want her to look at me like "why are you bothering me with this"??

Any ideas or thoughts, experiences??? It would be appreciated.

just another thought i had on the term mildly complex ...
it seems to me that it is either complex (fluid and solid components) or simple (fluid filled only) or solid ... i believe that since ur ultrasound was not transvaginal they cant say for sure if they saw solid components or artifacts

if possible get copise of all ur previous cts, us's etc to a disk and bring them with u as well

i am so grateful u got the appointment and i pray they give u the answers u deserve ... this seems to be the hardest part of the waiting ... but continue to be strong and ur own advocate and get the very best skilled physician for ur care

God richly bless u and ur family ... accept his loving kindness and peace in ur hearts ... and know that he is with u always
amen

Last tme it was a tumor not a cyst.  I didn't forward anything.  I just explained to whoever I talked to what was going on and she made me an appt.  I now have an appt. on the 11th so I have to wait another 2 weeks.  Whatever.  Oh, and I have another US on the 18th.  BTW, they didn't do a TVUS, just a regular.  It seems that a TVUS would be warranted, (even though I hate those).

Oh yeah, I just wanted to tell you what a special person you are.  I have read your posts, and watched as you have commited to pray for others.  As a christian women I know the true value of a prayer warrior. God bless you.

hmm .. it does make no sense ... what kind of cyst was removed last time and did u forward him a cd with ur tvus on it and any other tests u may have had or did u just talk to an office manager who really doesnt know whats going on ... i so HATE the run around ... half the time ppl go to a doc they hafta be prepared for battle to get treatment ... see the gyn and have all the test done and then when u sit with her afterwards plead ur case ... ask her who she would want operating around down there ... gracious i should one day be not surprised

to get me thru my little setbacks .. realizing tht what ppl told me was true ... everything happens for a reason .... i pray u find reason in all this
keep us posted

Thanks for the post Sharon. I'm a Sharon too by the way.  Well, I just got called by the gyn/onc and they won't see me.  When I made the appt. 2 weeks ago, I told them what was going on and they said since I had already been a patient that I could be seen there.  They called today and said I can't be seen unless I have cancer which makes no sense because when I was a patient before they were ruling out cancer. I cried. I was counting down the days to get going on this and then I had to start over and find another doctor and then possibly just be referred right back there.  The cycle continues.  I did this before, went to the just a norm gyn, went through the exam, mri and then ended up referred again anyway.

Thanks for you help

darlin they wont look at u that way ... there is something growing in ur abdomen and its not a pregnancy and no matter what it is UNUSUAL and should not be hanging around in there ... if the gyn onc thinks surgery isnt indicated at this time they will tell u
the gyn onc is the best expert in the reproductive area and thats who u want ... there is soeone on here that always says u only have one shot to do this right the first time and i strongly agree
as far as pain goes ... everyones pain threshold is different ... everyones "growths" press on different parts ... some that illicit pain and some dont ... basically i believe if the person says they dont cause pain they better have a uterus in their own body ... the comment i made on another post was "no uterus = no opinion" was directed at male docs who tell u that u have no pain not ppl like me who will soon have no uterus but a definite opinion LOL
mildly complex = a great big i dont know unfortunately ... what part of the complexities did not show up would have been more helpful
i hope i helped
