understanding tvu results

recent tvu showed a nonechoic ovarian cyst with slight peripheral blood flow which does not give the appearance of a simple cyst. Hmmm i am just a bit freaked. I have had an endometrial ablation yet still have periods. The lining of my uterus was also to thick for having had this done. Is peripheral blood flow  some sort of indicator for something bad? I have a endoetrial bx scheduled but thought this was not even an option after the ablation.

Hi,
I think the most frustrating part of any of this is the waiting !! Unfortunately there is no absolute way of determining whether we are dealing with a malignancy or  benign condition until there is a path report as part of surgical procedure (laparoscopy or laparotomy).. The CA-125 is a good tool but not reliable in premenopausal women. All sorts of things can throw it out of whack; infections, pregnancy , endometriosis, the list goes on..Some of the women on the OVCA forum had perfectly "normal" CA-125 results. So don't get too frantic if it's high.. Some of the women had very high CA-125 results and a benign condition. Don't forget-- many cysts simply disappear on their own..

Sharon: what are the plans for your cyst? Keep us posted.

Take Care,
Sandy

my tvus was pretty similiar except they didnt tell me the blood flow part

they called mine complex cysts which from my understanding is a may or may not be cancer ... how clear is that ??

did they send for a CA-125 or do any other work up ??
also look up ovarian endometrioma

best of luck
