Hello I have been dealing with pelvic/abdominal pain for around three months. I recently went to a gynocologist for a transvaginal ultrasound. Unfortunately the report posted to me was of very poor standard and I am just wondering if you could help me in understanding what the report actually means. So the report stated as follows “normal uterus endometrium 10mm, both ovaries enlarged and multi follicular post ovulation right, 22mm solid area on left with flow on colour Doppler, free fluid moderate amount. At the moment I am being tested for an array of different things mainly because my GP thinks my abdominal pain is gastro related so endoscopy and colonoscopy are due. However the internet has really frightened me and now made me believe that possibly these pains could be ovarian cancer?! my periods are always heavy, and I’ve had this cramping bloating feeling now for longer that expected. I know it isn’t diet related and the fact the gynae didn’t even mention the “solid area” to me I just noticed it in the report sent out!! She is probably taken into consideration my age(28) but I know women of all ages can get OC.
Anyway sorry for that somewhat rant but I’d just like to know based on the “report” and particularly the “solid 2cm area with flow” should I be concerned? Is this the typical report of a cyst because I don’t understand any of the terminology and only know that most cysts come and go through menstruation.
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can offer any advice at all.
