Need Answers....

I have been having this pain in my left ovary like someone is squeezing it. I waited until my annual to address my pain. While examining me, she couldn't find my right ovary and she said that my left one felt enlarged. So the dr sent me for an ultrasound (not a vaginal ultrasound just a regular one). Well the dr contacted me weeks later saying that everything looked fine. Well here is is a month later and I started getting them now over to my right ovary (still feeling pains in my left too). I have the pain to the point where I can't have intercourse with my husband, Can't sit without the pain... and oddly I can't sit sometimes because I feel a sharp pain going though my butt! Its just awful... When I take a bowel movement it hurts my ovaries and my ( I guess you would call it my colon?) hurts too!? Also, I have been having Yeast infections back to back. So with all of this I went back to my OB and she examined me again. This time she still couldn't find my right ovary and she did a rectal exam to try and find it and couldn't. That exam was so painful it made me tear up! And not only because it was an rectal exam, but because of her pushing and things. So last Monday I went for a CT Scan with contrast. I haven't heard anything back yet and today makes it a week and a day since I had the scan.

My question is- Has anyone had these kind of feeling? If so, what did your dr say?

I am so nervous because cancer runs through my family like water! My mom has ovarian cancer... :(

Thank you so much for your time with helping me through this horrid time!

I just called them about 20 minutes ago, and the receptionist told me that the Dr would call me today. I was told that yesterday and so now today I will wait again. The dr knows how I am in regards to my body. I am very impatient with things like this. I don't understand why they would sit on any kind of results good or bad. We need peace of mind- you know?! So we'll see. I will be sure to keep you all posted.

Thanks so much!

I am stumped about that decision too- but grateful that she didn't brush me off and scheduled me for a CT Scan.

Your reasoning as to why she could not be able to find my ovary was a big help! Now I know what a possibility could be.

Thanks!

Please call and hound them for results.  Don't let them make you wait on anything here.  With your mother's history it is imperative you get to a gyn ASAP and make sure they know about it.  Please keep us posted.

It's strange that an ovary could not be found and it's also strange that a transvaginal ultrasound was not used because they are better than conventional ultrasound at finding ovaries and cysts.

The CT Scan takes a very clear picture of a much wider area and if there's anything to be found, it should show it.  Can you call to see if the CT Scan results have arrived yet?  Sometimes they have the results but take awhile to actually tell you about them.

It sounds like cysts but something needs to be found first.  It could be a cyst that pulled your ovary down and behind something else which is why they can't see it.  It could be behind the uterus (that's where mine ended up).

Sorry I'm not more helpful and I hope the doctor has better information for you soon.
