Recovery for Hysterectomy

I am going to have surgery for a large "cyst" or growth on my ovaries, and I am going to go ahead and have a full hysterectomy.  I have to travel out of state to get this done  because of my high risk for cancer.  Does anyone know how long after surgery before I will be able to travel home on a plane?

Do ask your doctor but I would imagine you would be able to after the first week but might want to arrange for the little car to drive you around as you will be very sore and very tired.  You might also want to ask this question on the hysterectomy forum.  Good luck with your surgery.
